My Mouse House

I recently came across a site on the net that had suggestions on what to do with an empty Altoid's tin. You know, the curiously strong mints? Well, there were several quite creative suggestions, including the portable voo doo kit. (no, I am not kidding.)

I have used my Altoid tin for yet another idea. Not only do I enjoy creating primitive dolls, but I am also obsessed with dollhouses. Dollhouses of all kinds. I am currently working on a house I am building inside a huge armoire, an antique dollhouse, and my mouse house. Here is a picture of the kitchen in my mouse house. Notice the tin table! Those Altoid junkies didn't come up with that one!

Blueberry Nut Crunch Cake

1 can ( 20 oz ) crushed pineapple
3 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
1 cup sugar
1 box yellow cake mix
1/2 cup margarine
1 cup ground pecans

Preheat oven to 350. Grease a 9 x 13 pan. Pour pineapple and juice in pan. Sprinkle blueberries over pineapple. Pour 3/4 cup sugar over berries, sprinkle dry cake mix over berries.

Melt margarine and pour over cake. Pour remaining sugar over this and sprinkle nuts over this.

Bake. Cut through with a spoon in several places to let juices come through and cook 10 or 15 more minutes. Can be served with Cool Whip or ice cream.

Tomato Head Doll with her Baby

If I had to vote for which doll was the biggest pain this week, it would be Tess here. I must have redone her a half dozen times. Finally I had a doll that I could accept. She even comes with little Tom Jr. This doll was made with a pattern designed by Moonchild's Primitives. It was originally a Christmas Angel, but in my hands it morphed into a tomato. I really don't know how that happens.

Black Rag Doll with her Bunny

This doll was made using a Chestnut Junction pattern. Her patterns are wonderful. Something for everyone, and extremely affordable. She just started making her patterns available as E-Patterns. YAY!!

Antique Style Black Doll

I love how this doll looks like it was well loved by someone years ago. A bit worn and maybe even a tad ugly. She was made with a Jackie Schmidt pattern. I love her patterns. They are the closest I have seen to the old rag doll style that I am really drawn to. I just adore her apron!

Mammy Sit-About

This doll was made without the use of a pattern. I just drew her and cut her out. Easy enough. She can sit just about anywhere ya want her to.

A Piece of Sun!

I was sitting at my desk when all of a sudden, I saw light...sunlight! You should have seen me hauling all my picture taking necessities outside like a mad woman. I was afraid the sun would hide from me again before I could finish my pictures. It didn't. Here they are, my listings for the week.

Flat Doll is Here!

My goodness it is a good thing the mailman left the package on the porch and went away. Otherwise I would have had to chase him down and give him a huge bear hug for bringing my flat doll today!

It is just loads of GORGEOUS!!! And so totally me!!! Beautiful warm colors with an antique feel. Lots of baubles on it. A key and a heart, which are two things I truly love. There are some rusty pins, buttons, a beautiful antique style watch that even opens, lots of buttons, ribbons, and a sweet little tag that reads "true friends". I cannot wait to show it off. I am so proud of it.

Cathy Jackson of Hazelruthe's was my swap partner. She did a perfect job! Cathy I so appreciate all the effort and care you put into my doll! I cannot say thanks enough!!

Clouds...

My plan was to get my dolls finished Sunday so that I could list them. Well, life got in my way, and plans had to be changed. There is always tomorrow, right? Tomorrow turned out to be cloudy. Waited most of today for the sun to come out long enough for me to take pictures. Didn't happen. Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to photograph my new dolls for you to see, and me to list!

Flat Doll Swap

Cathy has finally received the flat doll I made for her in the Prim and Rustic Group! I can stop biting my fingernails because she loves it! Whew!! It was the first flat doll I ever made, and I have to admit I had lots of fun designing it and bringing it to life. The tag on it says "garden of friends."
