Well, his daddy had a fit. It was inevitable. I knew it would happen. Several years ago I bought an antique handmade dollhouse at a yard sale. It is crude in contruction, seen better days, and some call it ugly. I love it. When we emptied out our rented storage unit, the time had come to bring the dollhouse home. So I did. I have slowly begun to decide wallpaper and such. Things for the house are lying on the kitchen table. Little things. My grandson is little. He loves little things. He first started playing with the bed. He asked for pillows and a blanket. The pillows I had, the blanket I had to improvise. He was enjoying putting the little people to bed so much that I finally told him to go over to the house and open the big doors. He did. The look on his face was priceless. The first words out of his mouth were, " a frigerfrater????" He wanted to know if there was milk in it. Of course there was. I have been collecting miniatures since his daddy was 5. I had everything he asked for. Cake, a fork, and pans for the kitchen. Did he cook with the pans? Nope. He piled them all in the kitchen sink. And just like a male, all he was worried about was the food, a tv, place to sleep, and the toilet. No kidding. Pretty soon there were dirty dishes in the sink, all the little people were sitting in various places eating cake or watching tv, and there was a guy on the toilet. Oh and some upstairs layin around in bed too. He could not have cared less that the couch needs reupholstering to match the wallpaper, and that the paint is peeling. It was so wonderful to watch my grandson enjoy all the things I began collecting way before he was even thought of. My biggest concern then was his daddy getting thru kindergarten. My how time flies.
