I just want to say today that kindness is not dead. It does my heart good to know that there are still people in this world who offer a smile and a helping hand to strangers ,asking nothing in return but a simple thank you.
My hubby and I, and my sister and brother in law took the grandies to the Pulaski County Fair Saturday night to watch the mud races. My grandson was totally and completely thrilled. I swear he peed his pants when the first car left the starting line. He was so excited. (yes, I will be posting pictures.) We were seated in the grandstands on the bleachers. I hate bleachers. Anyone who has severe rheumatoid arthritis knows why. Getting up them was slow, but I had the rail to hold on to. Well, by the time I got up to leave, I had sat there so long, my legs felt like they were rusted through and through, and they were absolutely not going to cooperate. Yes, I know better than to sit that long. But hey, sometimes I sink deep into denial and try to pretend I am normal. Anyway, the area was so crowded, that there was absolutely no getting to the rail that helped me up. So, I stood up, and my husband stood to help me. (he is a sweetie. never complains about my issues.) It was obvious after the first step, that it wasnt working very well having my left arm free with nothing to hold onto. I was just about to shed tears from embarrassment when this young fellow came bounding up the bleachers with outreached hand to help. Called me mam even. Now his mamma raised him right! I know he will never see this post, but dear sir, I hope that god smiles upon you. You saved me from an incredibly embarrassing situation, and you warmed my heart. You gave me a little spark of hope for the human race. Thank you, thank you!
